Fishing at Winchester Bay/Salmon Harbor, Oregon
Salmon returning to local creeks to spawn and die
September 8, 2002
July 7, 2002
June 2002 From Dennis Sherwood - River's End Guide Service/Ocean Charters: During the past several years Winchester bay has been closed for salmon fishing starting the 1st of July from the seaward ends of the jetties up to the entrance of the west basin, and then opening again on the 1st of August. This year the bay will remain open. This is good news, and maybe your site could help spread the word. Also the fin clipped Coho Season runs July 7th - Aug 4th or until a quota of 22,500 fin-clipped Coho is reached. We should have another good Chinook season this year. The commercial boats and sport boats have done well this year weather permitting.

Sherwood - River's End Guide I took a couple of gentlemen from the Roseburg Area fishing
on the 7th of June. We fished 3 hours outside. They hooked 4 nice Chinook
and landed 3: 14#, 19#, and 24#. The one they lost was approximately
20#. 2003 Fishing Regulations from ODFW
